Passing time on a rainy day, a group of people tells stories of traveling, eventually leading Mr. Josh to relate the story of his father's run in with Tom Rocket, a highwaman. Tom took his father's pocketbook, filled with legal documents, and offered to return it in exchange for money. Despite setting a trap, Tom Rocket retrieved the money and replaced the pocketbook without being caught.
