A Prince of Bohemia Claudine marries a prominent author by the name of Du Bruel to impress her true love Palferine.  Meanwhile, Du Bruel has a mistress of his own, a dancer named Tallia.  But in the end Claudine returns to face her love Palferine who, in the spirit of a Bohemian, merely plays coy with her.
