Artemus Ward Among the Fenians Ward, a man with liver and drinking problems, attends a  meeting of the Fenians and speaks to the uselessness of fighting for or working towards a free Ireland and advises the men to be satisfied with their lives in America. They disagree, but peacefully listen.
