Richards] [for the New York Saturday Press] A man wins an orange tree from his brother in a card game; the man later parlays that single tree into millions of trees through a stretch of unbelievable luck.  The opponent gives back all he previously won from the man and much more.  Thus the tree is called the tree of gold.
