Abstract:

Miss Deborah Dunn is assigned by her editor to write a "sprightly" story rather than the dark and gothic stories she usually writes, and finds that sprightly stories upset her friends and family because they think she is writing about them and that she is safer from negative criticism when writing darker tales.
