Abstract

Young Aeneas concedes to temptation and eats the apples off of the altar to the Gods. He is punished by his mother and she claims misfortune will come. Later that night he sees a slave take the sacrificed dinner off the altar and realizes that there is no sense in believing his mother's threats.
