Ada Clare (whose given name was Jane McIlheny) was born in South Carolina.
In this column, Clare focuses mainly on the current events in opera. First, she discusses Cortesi's introduction of a new tenor during Monday's opera. Clare discusses the opera and Cortesi's talents as a prima donna. She also discusses the merits of the new tenor, Musiani. Clare also discusses the operatic performance of Madame Oliveta and company at the Winter Garden the previous Saturday.
