Supposedly written by John Burroughs under the pseudonym "All Souls," the second part of "Fragments from the Table of an Intellectual Epicure" deals further with some of life's most philosophical questions. Knowledge and humor are defined as the two "stuffs" which make up the man, yet their coexistence is questioned throughout this article. Self-discovery, expression and the impact of religion are also explored while new authors are added to Burroughs' list of those he considers the most accomplished.
