A religious tale promoting the belief that there is God and hence goodness in all people, including the most savage criminals. A pastor frightens his congregation with fire and brimstone and they are left feeling a discord between the beauty in nature all around them and the misery of the preacher's sermon. The apparition of his wife comes to teach the pastor this lesson.
