In this first article, a poor young man examines the question, "What is love?" He begins looking at the general makings of a relationship between two people, commenting on the need of a common background. He then looks at the relationship between a husband and wife, and finally the relationship between parents. Examining these three stages of relationships, he still finds himself asking the same question.
