Abstract

Personne opens the Feuilleton with a discussion of the talents of Madame Gassier and a review of her performance in Ernani. Personne also discusses and reviews other opera singers and performances. He remarks that there is very little going on in the theatrical community and gives a general update about what is being performed in the principal theaters. Personne reviews the new play by "James Pilgrim, Esq.," Garibaldi, currently at the New Bowery. The Feuillton concludes with a reprint of some remarks on the opera by "a 'cricket' in the San Francisco Golden Era" (2).
