Born in 1819 into an old Quaker family near Philadelphia, Thomas Dunn English attended schooling in Philadelphia and New Jersey.
A collection of sprightly paragraphs concerning public and literary matters, as well as the occasional joke. N.P. Willis is referenced in another paper as under the influence of Rufus Griswold, and Thomas Dunn is questioned about his theories on agriculture.
