Taken from the National Intelligencer, a short letter from Napoleon Louis Bonaparte to President Van Buren. In it, Napoleon expresses regret at leaving the United States without meeting the President. He also accuses Van Buren of giving support to false rumors about him in the papers, but maintains that he still has respect for the ruler of a free people.
