A collection of three bits of news. The first is a letter from Alexander von Humboldt asking that the public stop sending him so many correspondences so that he may be able to rest a bit in his weakening health. Following the letter is a bulleted comment from the Director of the Statistical Bureau of Berlin which provides current population statistics for the world. Following that is an announcement about a new book, which is being published in Paris.
