This article discusses Dr. Bentley's edition of Milton's Paradise Lost. Bentley's edition of the poem incorporates his "conjectural" critical theory in which he argues that the published poem that has survived over time is not the poem Milton wrote or intended and was subject to editing and mistranslation. Dr. Bentley seeks to "correct" these "errors" by deleting or re-writing portions of the poem and the Saturday Press highlights several of these changes.
