Abstract

The New York Leader is a weekly periodical that ran from 1856 to 1871. John Clancy, who became editor of the Leader in 1861, was a friend of Henry Clapp, Jr., and hired Clapp and other Pfaff's regulars when the Saturday Press ceased publication in December of 1860.
