"William Edgar Marshall, engraver and portrait painter, best known in the seventies and eighties for his heroic ideal Picture of Christ, a large canvas which has been shown in several cities and was engraved by the artist, died yesterday on his seventieth birthday in his studio, 711 Broadway, of Pneumonia ."
