Abstract

Clare informs Mr. Mitchell she has had some difficulty with the new installation of a water-back, a tank used for storing hot or cold water. She was lead to believe her original water-back broke at the fault of a servant, so she agreed to pay out-of-pocket for a new installation. However, the plumber upcharged her on the bill. Clare refused to pay, sending the plumber into a rage that got her landord, Mr. Asten, involved. Clare asks if Mitchell will settle the matter before declaring she never wants the plumber in her home again.
